2011 – Fall – St. Nazianz News Letter

United Ministries, Inc. was founded in 2005 by purchasing a parsonage and church building which we called 9th Street Christian Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin.  Our mission was then to help establish ministries and work with the neighborhood (Kid’s Club, after school tutoring, food pantry) and other emergency assistance.  In 2008 we acquired 38 acres formerly used as both the Salvatorian Seminary and JFK Prep School.  Our present mission is to work with other churches for them to be able to use the facilities for meetings, summer camp, and children’s activities without being restricted by the burden of finances.

Some things already accomplished are a temporary roof put on the church allowing it to be open for prayer and meditation.  The staff and volunteer living-quarters update has over 40 windows replace, including plumbing along with 3 furnaces installed.  A large wood boiler for the Thrift / Outlet Store (open 6 days from 9-4), including food pantry, was installed and the basement of the gym completely refurbished.  Our old lawn cutting equipment was replaced by a new 66-inch mower.  Three buildings have been re-roofed, and the annex building was redone.  A few groups have participated in the primitive (tent only) camping last summer and this one….plan to have your church group and other groups come and stay for a few days, at no charge.

The 2 man-made lakes are being excavated now.  This will expand our capabilities for future summer camp, retreats, and Christian family R/V camping.  With other projects such as the 40-room dormitory upgrade, we will be able to have winter camp/events with the recreation areas and/or conference programs.  Our funding comes from people such as you that hear about what we are doing, who believe in and support it, and with other revenue from the Thrift/Outlet Store.  For more information and if interested in being on our periodic emailing list, contact us at: (920) 773-3050 or email at: stnazcctr@tds.net.

Many blessings to you in 2010 a we continue to seek the Lord together.
